He recently lost his mother and his Rayo Vallecano debut was delayed for several weeks after he was hospitalised.
“I am just happy to be back playing football again especially after the difficult period I passed through – I lost my mother and around that time I fell ill,” he told SCORENIGERIA
“It was gloomy time for me at that point, but i give God the glory because it is now a thing of the past.”
Uche Agbo was in full control in the midfield against star-studded Real Madrid Sunday night.
He said his team one of the best teams in the world.
“I’m really pleased with the outcome of the match that we won against one of the best teams in the world,” he said.
However, he refused to discuss his future in Spain.
“I came to Rayo Vallecano on loan from Standard Liege, so I am still a bonafide player of Standard Liege and I still have one year left on my contract with my parent club,” he said.
“I cannot discuss my future because I am still a player of Standard Liege as I signed a three-year contract when I joined them from Granada.”
