Nigerian Woman Cured of Sickle Cell After Brother's Sacrifice, Praises Him on Social Media


A Nigerian woman by name, Samira Sanusi has taken to Twitter to celebrate her brother, Musty Sanusi who donated his bone marrow to her 13 years ago.
 
According to Sanusi, after the operation, she was cured of sickle cell condition. The operation took place in Vienna, Austria in 2004.
 
Now, the excited woman has taken the cause of sickle cell sufferers as her number one priority by creating awareness so that other less fortunate young people with the condition will get the same opportunity she had.
 
 
She has now founded the Samira Sanusi Sickle Cell Foundation.
 
Sharing the news on Twitter, she wrote: “13 years ago today @mustysanusi gave me his Bone Marrow/Stem Cells which cured me of Sickle Cell Anaemia”
