Five Secondary School Students Drown in River Kaduna During Excursion


Five students from a private secondary school on an excursion in Kaduna have drowned in River Kaduna on Wednesday morning. 
 
According to Sahara Reporters, the five students - four males and one female - drowned at around 11am in the course of an excursion in the area.
 
River Kaduna is the boundary that separates Hausa-Fulani in the north and Southern Kaduna ethnic groups in the south.
 
 
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident happened when a water board facility that draws water from the river to the water plant collapsed while students were on the excursion.
 
 
Several others students escaped with injuries, while the bodied of the five victims are yet to be recovered.
