A pregnant mother and her three children, , were on Thursday crushed to death by a 911 lorry in Anambra. They were said to have been returning from a clinic.
Sources revealed that the kids had accompanied their mum to attend antenatal in a private hospital in the area. They had stood by the roadside to await a bus when the driver of a tipper carrying sand, rammed into them with his vehicle, killing all of them in the process.
A source who spoke with Southern News revealed the accident happened due to the driver's refusal to part with N50 bribe for some policemen at the checkpoint. In a bid to escape, swerved and crushed the woman and her kids.
Angered with what happened, youths in the area chased after the policemen killing two in the process.
Reacting to the incident on Friday, the Anambra State Police Command said it had arrested 13 persons in connection with the incident
